Who is a candidate for Kyphoplasty?

What are the symptoms of compression fractures?

Symptoms often include sudden, severe, sharp back pain that worsens with standing, walking, bending, or twisting and typically improves when lying down. Other signs may include decreased mobility, loss of height, and tenderness over the affected area.

How is the procedure performed?

The procedure is performed under Local anesthesia and IV sedation, it involves small incisions, using X-ray for guidance.

What are the risks associated with Kyphoplasty?

The risks include cement leakage, nerve injury or infection.
